Foundational Movement – Yoga and Pilates
Learn the foundational postures and movement patterns for Yoga and Pilates from a Beginners perspective. Each training is 60min in length
Somatic Movement Restore
Through slow methodical movements with conscious attention to internal responses, somatic movement supports education and re-education of the human nervous system, (which controls our posture and movement). By tapping into the wisdom of the body a new awareness is developed in our system which “unlocks” learned patterns and responses, releases held tension in the tissues and reveals held emotions. Instead of moving the body to find awareness, somatics involves moving through the body using awareness. Somatic movement recognizes the complex interplay of learned patterns and responses between the body, mind and emotions, and offers practical tools for cultivating awareness, developing strength and flexibility, promoting physical and emotional help to live a more integrated, balanced life. With renewed awareness we will then move into additional supported, restorative and yin yoga postures, (with the aid of props), and focus on deep, restorative breath to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation and bring balance to body and mind. Some Yoga Balls and Tools required.
Pilates Yoga Flow
The Pilates principles of alignment are fused with yoga poses to build greater strength and a balanced body. You’ll flow through Pilates exercises to improve strength, mobility, and stability followed by a series of yoga postures focusing on endurance, breath, strength, length, and opening the body. This is a Level 1/2 class.

Using several tools, we will uncover the tender areas or trigger points in our bodies and roll them out to release tension in tight muscles, improve inflexible areas, remove muscle spasms and decrease soft tissue density. Then we will move into gentle pilates inspired core activations and supported, restorative and yin yoga postures, (with the aid of props), and focus on deep, restorative breath to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation and bring balance to body and mind.
